Appleton Gift & Basket and Kentfield Kids are hosting a special event in our stores on Sunday, January 24th, called 'All About You'. The event is going to take place at 65 Mill Street in downtown Almonte. A wonderful group of experts will set up in both stores and you will have the chance to visit with each of them and ask questions. You are also invited to sample the new "Wellness Teas" from Harney & Sons and help yourself to decadent fruit and chocolate from our chocolate fountain. Our guests include Lilly White from White Light, Barb Goodwin from Almonte Massage Therapy, Elizabeth Radmore, a local Ottawa author of the book "Cushla", Elaine Birchall a hoarding consultant, Sharon Moore a Reiki Practitioner, Julie Argue from Foodies, and more. The Carleton Place in Bloom Committee, in partnership with the BIA, is welcoming judges from the National WinterLights program to Carleton Place on December 1 and 2, 2009. This is the first time Carleton Place has been involved in this program. The judges will be assessing the town on a number of criteria including winter pleasures, festive season celebrations, good will programs, tourism and promotion, and visual presentations (see www.winterlights.ca for further details).

Our Women's Business Group is sponsoring a wonderful fundraiser for the local Food Bank which is in urgent need. The Christmas Fair is taking place on Thursday November 19th at the Carleton Place Manor from 7:00pm -8:30pm and promises to be a great place to start your holiday shopping in comfort. It would be greatly appreciated if members could donate baked goods. Admission to the event is a canned good(s) for the Food Bank.
